Welcome to Willis Road Elementary!

We are so excited to welcome you! As you walk through the doors of Willis Road Elementary, you will immediately feel and see the uniqueness of our Wolfpack - the sense of family and community, the commitment to achievement, the positive, supportive  environment, and the dedicated faculty and staff. I am truly thankful and honored to be a part of this amazing community of students, parents, and staff!

I have worked in the Coweta County School System for 28 years. I began my career at East Coweta Middle School teaching Literature and Language Arts. During the 8 years I was there, I enjoyed teaching Literature, Language Arts, and Social Studies to 6th and 7th graders. Following that time, I had the pleasure of teaching at Willis Road Elementary for 9 years and then served as the Assistant Principal of Thomas Crossroads Elementary for 5 years. This is my 6th year as the proud principal of Willis Road Elementary.

Willis Road is a great place to learn and grow. The relationships we create and grow are at the heart of all that we do, and we firmly believe that strong, positive relationships with our students and parents truly make a successful difference! Our mission and vision come to life every day. We are committed to student success, and as a team, we work closely with students, parents, and Central Office personnel to help our students grow and achieve academically, behaviorally, and socially.

When you visit Willis Road, you will see our W.O.L.F. Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports in motion. Students work hard, own their behavior, listen and learn, and focus on respect. They enjoy our W.O.L.F. celebration days and the opportunity to select items off the W.O.L.F. menu as they collect and redeem their green “gotchas.” We utilize a multi-tier system of support (MTSS) that provides academic, social, and emotional strategies, interventions, and tools to assist struggling learners. Willis Road provides extra-curricular opportunities in many areas including Chorus, a yearly spring musical, Kiwanis K-Kids Club, Academic Bowl, Art Club, Yearbook Club, Writing Club, News Crew, School Council, and Science Olympiad. Students also have opportunities to participate on the track team, serve as a Wise Wolf, participate in our Wolf Steps program, participate in the Principal’s Student Advisory Council, and as 5th graders take the S.A.F.E. class, which promotes leadership and responsible citizenship presented by Corporal Tiffany Grier, our School Resource Officer. There is truly something for everyone!

Parents, I encourage you to stay involved in your child’s education throughout the school year, communicate regularly with the teachers, counselor, and administration, and take a little time to get involved in the school.  Our PTO does an outstanding job creating and organizing family fun events, coordinating Spirit Nights, and volunteering in many different areas throughout the school year. Whether you have 30 minutes or 3 hours, I encourage you to sign up to assist with a PTO event, serve on a committee, or volunteer to help in the classroom. There is a quick training that all volunteers must go through each year, which takes about 15 minutes. Feel free to contact me or your child’s teacher to get started. We can complete the training around your schedule.

I am excited for you to experience first hand Willis Road’s uniqueness, family atmosphere,  and all the success the 2023-2024 school year will bring! My door is always open. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns at any time. As we work together, our students will achieve greatness. Again, welcome to Willis Road Elementary. We are glad you are part of our Wolfpack!
